About Lake Danao Natural Park

Lake Danao Natural Park is a protected area featuring a scenic violin-shaped lake nestled in the mountains of Danao City. Located at an elevation of approximately 600 meters above sea level, the lake and its surroundings offer a cool, misty environment and peaceful natural scenery. The 58-hectare park centers around the natural freshwater lake, which is unique in Cebu as one of the few natural lakes on the island. Visitors can rent paddle boats or kayaks to explore the calm waters, or simply enjoy the views from the shore. The surrounding forest is home to various bird species and endemic flora, making it a good spot for nature observation. Facilities include picnic areas, cottages, and walking trails around the lake. The park's relatively remote location means it sees fewer visitors than more accessible attractions, providing a tranquil atmosphere for those who make the journey. Lake Danao is often combined with visits to Danasan Eco Adventure Park for a full day of mountain exploration.
